Bridget Langdale - Artist Statement:

 

Art is a way for me to express the spirit of life.  I was drawn to contrasts of textures –smooth against rough, colors that pop against each other, and art that speaks of history, the land and the spirit that surrounds each of us.  The idea, concept, vision is in my head, I start to work with traditional and nontraditional techniques, methods and materials.  I start with a vision and then let the spirit of the piece guide me to completion, accepting that my creative unconscious is the underlining project manager.

The resulting overall themes are about living in Texas.  Raised in the city, although spent weekends on a family working ranch, my life and art reflect a lifelong bond with the land and the life it sustains.
